FAQ
How can the Compliance Gate Platform help us with the GPSR compliance process?
The Compliance Gate Platform can help you manage the GPSR process in the following ways:
1. Create compliance requirements lists (which include GPSR and other EU regulations and directives for your products)
2. Use the project modules to break down key steps of the GPSR process
3. Create label files based on the specified articles of the GPSR
4. Create documentation required by the GPSR
- Technical documentation
- Instructions
5. Book third-party testing to verify compliance with EN standards (which is often required to verify that your product is safe and thus compliant with the GPSR)
6. Track new versions of the General Product Safety Regulation and other relevant EU regulations and directives
You can also reach out to our support team if you need guidance or have questions about the GPSR process. Our Hong Kong-based team has worked hands-on with safety testing, labelling, documentation, and searching standards as part of the GPSR process.
Why do I need to track new versions of the GPSR?
EU regulations, including the GPSR, are amended from time to time. As a matter of fact, the GPSR has already been amended, despite being a fairly recent regulation.
Such amendments can introduce new or updated requirements. The practical implication of this can be that you must update labelling, documentation, or other areas related to the GPSR.
You can set up email alerts within the LexDatabase specifically for the GPSR, which results in us sending an email notification after we have detected a new consolidated version of the GPSR.
Why should I use the platform instead of managing the GPSR process by myself?
The General Product Safety Regulation is freely available on EUR Lex. As such, you do not need to use any software tool or service to comply with the GPSR (or any other EU regulation for that matter).
That said, navigating through dense legislative text is complex and time-consuming. The purpose of the Compliance Gate Platform is to provide a visual interface that helps you manage many of the GPSR steps in a more intuitive way.
Does the platform cover the entire GPSR compliance process?
No, there are areas of the GPSR process that the Compliance Gate Platform cannot handle. For example, the GPSR requires that all products be safe. This can mean that you need to identify relevant EN standards and implement these into your product’s design and specifications. This is an engineering process that requires product expertise rather than selecting modules and templates in a software application.
Does the platform provide access to harmonised standards related to the GPSR?
No, we are not a standards vendor. However, you can easily access the portals where you can search harmonised standards and EN standards from within the Compliance Gate Platform.
